Check out this task to practice!

The post How to Hold Angles in Counter-Strike 2 While Strafing appeared first on Aimlabs.com Articles.

]]>
The most important core mechanic in any tactical shooter is angle-holding, which, simply put, is your ability to hold an angle that an opponent will likely peek from. It’s especially crucial on defense, as players will attempt to engage you. Your crosshair placement largely determines your ability to hold angles in Counter-Strike.

Crosshair placement is another important skill, as the low time to kill necessitates quick reactions and precise first shots. The ideal scenario is positioning your crosshair so you are prepared for the enemy player’s head to move into the center of your crosshair, requiring as few adjustments as possible before clicking. However, as good as your crosshair placement may be, there will be times when enemies move in unexpected manners, requiring you to make additional adjustments in order to land your shots accurately.

This means it’s important that you train your ability to make necessary micro-adjustments when these situations arise, especially while you’re strafing or moving in any general direction, as that makes angle-holding even more difficult. Angle-holding is all about fixing your crosshair’s position to a point on your screen, and movement will naturally offset your crosshair from its initial position, requiring “tracking” while you move.

Now that you better understand what angle-holding is, what makes it such a crucial component of Counter-Strike fundamentals, and how movement complicates the mechanic, we can move forward in refining your skills.

VT Anglehold VAL Horizontal on Aimlabs

This task will train your ability to hold angles while moving, prompting you to micro-adjust to static targets. It challenges you to track a static pill-shaped target without holding down your fire button while you move anywhere in a 90-degree circle. After a random amount of time, the target will despawn, and an orb target will spawn nearby, prompting you to flick quickly to that orb to restart the cycle and continue the process. Remember to keep moving, and remember… the only time you should be clicking fire is when you’re flicking on that orb!

The post Practice Wallpeeking Like the Pros in Tac Shooters appeared first on Aimlabs.com Articles.

]]>
If you are looking to excel at any low TTK game, you will have to master the art of wall peeking. Think of this as the bread and butter of any tactical shooter, especially when playing as an attacker. Wall-peeking’s name describes it accurately; it is the act of peeking into an enemy’s line of sight from behind cover.

Wall-peeking may sound simple in theory and in a lot of ways it is. However, there are some important takeaways to keep in mind! First, ensure your crosshair is optimally positioned. There will be times, inevitably, when you are already aware of the general position of an enemy, and you want to peek into them. In these cases, it is important to “pre-aim.” Do this by positioning your crosshair in a manner that ensures it aligns with the opponent’s player model as you expose your own.

The most overlooked aspect of wall-peeking is positioning. One of the most common mistakes beginners make is that they tend to stand too close to the wall they’re peeking, putting themselves in a highly disadvantageous situation. If you do this, the enemy holding the angle you are peeking into will spot your player model before you gain vision of theirs. This is a big issue in low TTK games such as Counter-Strike or VALORANT, as the winner of an aim duel is often determined by who gets to land the first shot.

VCT Haven Wallpeek on Aimlabs

The following task will help you immensely in building upon your wall-peeking fundamentals, even though the task recreates a bombsite from VALORANT’s Haven, Counter-Strike and VALORANT are highly similar in their mechanics, making it a solid choice for either game.

The targets in this task are humanoid shaped and favor headshots, and they follow a movement pattern highly similar to how players will strafe and move in tac shooters. With the addition of varying elevation points, the task requires you to adjust your aim further to land your shots accurately. Remember, be present minded of your positioning. Don’t hug the wall, give yourself space as you peek the angle!

Joining the list of our Aim Basics Routines, we have the Counter-Strike 2 Aim Basics Routine, which has been designed to provide you with a focused training playlist that will directly translate to your CS2 aim duels and engagements.

The tasks will help you train your microcorrections, flicking technique, and smoothness. Each section reflects common Counter-Strike 2 scenarios like tight angle fights and rapid strafing duels, to help you build clean crosshair control and faster reactions against moving targets.

This routine is designed to work as a daily training session or a warmup before queueing. The total length sits at 24 minutes to play each of the tasks, making it an easy 30 minute routine. The final scenarios have been selected to feel more game focused with emphasis on strafing enemies and reacting to peeking angles, so that you finish each session with the routine ready to dominate with rifles or pistols.

Micros:

Micro 2 Sphere CS2 – This task features 2 small static targets in a very small space, providing core micro training, while also serving as an in-playlist warmup inside the routine. Fun, easy to play, and a good isolation exercise for doing small flick motions.

Microshot CS2 – In the next task, players will shoot at 2 targets in a long corridor with readable and predictable strafes. It’s good for learning how to chain micros and kill multiple evasive targets in a row, which is a very common scenario in CS. It teaches microcorrections and also the ability to focus on more than one target on screen without being overwhelmed.

Flicking Technique:

Adjustshot CS2 – Kicking off the flicking section, shoot at 2 targets on a wide wall with no variance in target depth. Targets are not static, and they have slight, gentle movement. This scenario is useful to train proper flicking technique, as it requires an initial flick and the microrrection needed due to the small target movements. Adjustshot is a very popular flicking task.

Headshot CS2 – The second flicking task features 4 moving targets in a wide playing area that only move horizontally until they hit the side walls. The task also has target depth, meaning targets can appear closer or farther away. This replicates situations where you catch multiple enemies rotating who are unaware of your presence and need to eliminate them quickly. It’s similar to the previous task in that it emphasizes fighting several targets, but on a much larger scale. It also trains micros, but this task made it into the flicking section on account of the requirement for wide flicks.

Smoothness and Stability:

Strafe Track CS2 – This task features a single invincible tracking target that moves horizontally, with slight back and forth movements, mimicking a CS2 player who is constantly strafing. It trains target reading and tension control, especially while tracking the target’s direction changes.

Angle Track CS2 – The next task in this section features on-rails movement, where the player moves side to side in a half-circle area while tracking a static target that despawns and respawns every 6 seconds. This is excellent for stability, teaching players to use the full range of motion of their arm to track their target. It also reliably replicates CS2 gameplay as it mimics holding and adjusting along an angle while maintaining proper crosshair placement. Some players debate that Counter-Strike players don’t use their tracking ability much, if you’re utilizing proper crosshair placement and angle control, you are absolutely using your tracking ability as you move.

Game Specific:

Strafeshot CS2 – This is a dynamic scenario with 4 targets that appear at different heights. The targets constantly strafe horizontally, stopping frequently. This task replicates the battles players experience in CS2, since erratic movement and “ADAD spamming” is the number one way to avoid getting killed in CS2. This creates the hardest aiming situation in the game, so training it in isolation is critical. This task trains flicking technique, micros, and target reading, all in one.

Peekshot CS2 – Rounding out the playlist is this simple scenario that replicates holding a corridor where an enemy can peek from either side. It’s great for training reactions, micros, and an extremely common situation in CS2, and really, all Tactical FPS games.

The post Clicking Moving Heads in Counter-Strike 2 appeared first on Aimlabs.com Articles.

]]>
The importance of landing headshots is highly dependant on the FPS title you are playing, however, in the context of tactical shooters like Counter-Strike 2 or VALORANT where the TTK is low and a single shot can be the determining factor in the outcome of an aim duel, headshots are key.

In CS2, your ability to click heads is the most important mechanical component in regards to coming out on top in your engagements. This might sound simple in theory, however, in practice things start to get a bit more complicated. The hitboxes in CS2 are quite small, meaning that in order to land a headshot, you will need pixel-perfect precision. Introduce player movement into this as an additional variable, and you will quickly begin to realize why.

Flicking onto static or immobile targets is much simpler than flicking onto dynamic or moving targets. The reasoning behind this is quite simple, while flicking to a static target you are adjusting your crosshair to a target at a fixed position, with dynamic targets you will have to take into account the target’s movement and adjust your aim accordingly.

The provided task will work on your ability to flick precisely onto a number of dynamic targets. It requires you to target bots that follow a sporadic movement pattern as they strafe horizontally. The task will help you the most regarding in-game situations where you’re attempting to time your clicks onto a strafing target in an aim duel. There will be three active targets at any given time, with a target respawning after you’ve destroyed it.

Finding the right mouse sensitivity feels harder than it should. You tweak sliders, copy pro settings, and still, something feels off in game. The problem is not effort. The problem is guessing. Sensitivity needs structure, not trial and error.

The latest Aimlabs YouTube guide starts by removing the guesswork. It breaks down common sensitivity ranges used across popular shooters and explains why those ranges exist. For example, faster games tend to favor higher sensitivity. Tactical shooters reward control and precision. Seeing these ranges side by side gives you a clear starting point instead of a random number.

The guide uses cm/360 as the foundation. This measures how far your mouse travels to complete a full rotation. Cm per 360 stays consistent across games and DPI settings. This makes it easier to compare sensitivities and build mouse control that transfers between titles.

The video covers a wide range of games including VALORANT, Counter Strike 2, Rainbow Six Siege, Fortnite, Call of Duty, Battlefield 6, Overwatch 2, Marvel Rivals, and Apex Legends. Each section explains how movement, engagement distance, and pacing influence sensitivity choices. From there, the guide walks you through narrowing your range based on your playstyle.

By the end, the goal stays simple. You stop thinking about your sensitivity during fights. Your crosshair moves with intent. If you want a repeatable way to lock in a sens you trust, this guide gives you a clear path forward!

The post Lessons from Counter-Strike’s Early Days and How to Apply Them appeared first on Aimlabs.com Articles.

]]>
Before million-dollar prize pools, packed arenas, and global sponsors, esports started in smoky LAN cafés and the occasional hotel basement. Players like Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson weren’t chasing fame or financial security, they were chasing greatness for its own sake. On the latest episode of the Aimlabs Podcast, Potti shared what it was like to compete before the term “esports” even existed, and how those early lessons can still guide players training to go pro today.

Passion Comes Before Paychecks

In the early 2000s, there were no contracts or organizations backing players. Every match was played out of pure passion for improvement and competition. That mindset: grinding for mastery, not clout, remains one of the most valuable traits a player can have. If you’re using Aimlabs to refine your aim or perfecting your game sense day after day, remember that consistency and love for the process are what separate long-term success from burnout. Passion built the foundation of esports, and it’s still the best fuel for your journey.

Adaptability Is the Real Meta

The early Counter-Strike pros didn’t have meta theory crafting videos or strategy guides to study, they had to learn by experimenting, failing, and adapting faster than everyone else. That adaptability became their superpower. Today’s competitive landscape changes just as quickly, with balance updates, shifting metas, and evolving playstyles. The takeaway? Don’t just train your aim… train your flexibility. The best players don’t just master the current meta, they prepare to thrive when it changes.

Teamwork Beats Talent

Even in Counter-Strike’s infancy, the teams that rose above the rest understood that individual skill only mattered if it served the team. Potti’s NiP roster wasn’t just built on having the five best fraggers, it was built on trust, communication, and shared goals. For players today, whether you’re climbing ranked or scrimming with friends, focus on being a teammate others can rely on. Clear comms, good attitude, and a team-first mentality are going to make the biggest impact on your team. Aim mechanics are only part of the equation, but if you’re a poor teammate, you won’t get the chance to show them off.

The Legacy Lives On

Esports was born from players who believed competition could be something bigger. They didn’t wait for an industry to form… they built it. That spirit is still alive every time someone loads up a game, queues for a scrim, or logs into Aimlabs to get just a little bit better than yesterday. The next generation of pros will come from those who combine modern tools with old-school drive, players who remember that the essence of esports is simple: passion, adaptability, and the will to improve.

The post Building a Winning Team By Outlining Your Team’s Culture appeared first on Aimlabs.com Articles.

]]>
When you’re starting a new team, whether it’s in Counter-Strike, VALORANT, or any other team game, it’s tempting to jump right into practice and strats. You want a well oiled machine that is throwing all the right smokes and flashes every round. But as Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson explained in the latest Aimlabs Podcast, that’s only part of the formula. The real secret to building a lasting team is culture, and it’s something Potti figured out more than twenty years ago.

1: Start with Shared Values, Not Just Shared Goals

When Potti founded Ninjas in Pyjamas, esports didn’t even exist as we know it today. There were no organizations, coaches, or salaries, just players trying to win together. What made NiP different wasn’t their game plan, but their shared mindset. They built a culture based on trust, respect, and accountability.

If you’re building your own team, think beyond “we want to win.” Who doesn’t? Instead, define how you want to win. Do you value communication above all else? Do you emphasize learning from losses instead of scapegoating in Discord after the match? Establish those standards early… they’ll shape every decision and keep your team unified when pressure hits.

2: Communication Is Culture

NiP’s dominance came from the way they communicated. In an era with no coaches calling the shots, Potti emphasized open, honest talk. Everyone had a voice, and that transparency built confidence, cohesion, and chemistry.

For modern teams, that lesson still holds. Great communication isn’t just about callouts or strats, it’s about creating an environment where feedback feels safe and collaboration feels natural. Culture starts with how you talk to each other, both in and out of the game.

3: Loyalty and Leadership Go Hand-in-Hand

Potti led by example. He didn’t need to be the loudest in the room, he was the most consistent. His loyalty to his teammates built trust, and that trust fueled NiP’s run as Counter-Strike’s first dynasty.

If you’re leading a team today, understand that leadership isn’t control… it’s consistency. Show up on time. Stay calm under pressure. Back your teammates even when results aren’t perfect. Culture is built on small actions that prove you’re in it together, and culture is led by example.

4: Culture Is a Competitive Edge

In a world where every team has access to Aimlabs, VOD reviews, and strat guides, the difference-maker is culture. Potti’s NiP wasn’t just technically strong (and they were), they were emotionally aligned. They trusted each other completely, and that made them unstoppable.

Teams that focus only on skill can burn out fast. Teams that focus on culture endure – they adapt, grow, and stay hungry. If you want your team to last, build the bonds first; the wins will follow.

If you’ve ever wondered how professional esports went from makeshift LAN parties to multimillion-dollar arenas, this episode of the Aimlabs Podcast is a must-watch. Featuring Tommy “Potti” Ingemarsson, one of Counter-Strike’s original legends, the conversation dives deep into the early, uncharted days of competitive gaming and the birth of Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), the first true dynasty in Counter-Strike history.

Potti shares raw stories from a time before esports had any structure, no salaries, no sponsorships, no guarantees. Yet, out of that chaos, he helped build a team that would dominate the early 2000s and set the tone for what a professional gaming organization could be. From training in smoky internet cafés to leading a roster that shaped modern team culture, his insights reveal how leadership, trust, and raw passion can turn a group of players into legends.

Potti provides a rare look at how competitive gaming has evolved over two decades, through the eyes of someone who’s lived every stage of it. He opens up about the mindset it took to stay ahead when the future of esports wasn’t certain, lessons that still resonate with modern pros looking to climb the ranks in Counter-Strike 2 and beyond.

Whether you’re an old-school CS fan or just discovering esports history, this episode delivers a nostalgic yet deeply relevant conversation about what it really means to build something from the ground up. Watch the full episode on the Aimlabs YouTube channel and relive the legacy of NiP with the man who started it all.
